Hi to all, just a quick introduction and to say what a great site this is for Wing owners.
I am in Albany, Western Australia and the owner of a 1975 gl1000 project.
Looking forward to the challenge of getting her back on the track and sharing the process with like minded enthusiasts.
Thanks for the oppourtunity.
Will keep the progress documented for the future.

Regards

Pedro70 ;)

Thanks everyone for the support!! No race tracks involved for her and hopefully no Roo's or Koalas.
The poor old girl has been laying dormant for about five years that i know of, the smell of rancid fuel was a concern from the start.
Fuel tank is a big issue, appears that mother nature is reclaiming the steel that was taken from her all those years ago.
Its going to be a task!!, just took the carby's off the other day after carefully chiseling away the oxidation around the jets,
managed to get them out with vice grips(hope I get some new ones in the kits), lost a couple of float pin posts also, so some delicate and major liquid steel reconstruction required internally to get them functioning.
Luckily I have my alternate ride to get away on in the meantime. (attached FYI) 97 Valkyrie
Thanks for the interest will keep you posted,
Regards Pedro

Thanks Terry, glad to be on-board.
Slowly working through the gl1000, not looking tooooo bad in places.
Fuel side of things is the big issue but will get on top of that.
I love the Valk and are heading back east (4000km) in 3 wks to see what the country looks
like from the opposite direction.
Try and get some decent photos for the site as I go.
Had a look at Randakks site but he was on holidays for a while, so I created my own float post?? but
will go through the info as I come across issues that need some attention
he's got a lot of good info there, cant beat experience like that.
great to say G'Day to you, a mate of mine is heading over that way soon for conference.
Sooooo envious wish I could do it as well.
anyway all the best & thanks for the post
regards

Pedro

Hey Pedro
i have been searching for the perfect Valkyrie for a few years , i particularly like the 1500 series. I have found a couple, aways hit roadblocks , either a slippery owner or family commitments With three GL's on the road i guess it's much wants more-LOL
Have a good time on the cross country , look forward to your posts
Terry
