If you don't have to many miles on the chassis, you should look into a used motor.

Depends on the condition of the bike, I guess. I've got so much stuff done to mine, I'd probably try to find another motor.

I guess, if the insurance pays you for it, you might as well go for a newer bike.

Cruseman, producer of maintenance cd,s hit a piece of scrap metal on the super slab. He managed to stay up right and pull of the road leaving a oil slick in his wake. As can be seen the hit literally tore the oil filter off the bike. He had to have the bike towed to the dealer. The insurance footed $11,000 to get him back on the road. I am wondering how effective belly pans are?
Obtaining the maximum enjoyment from operating a motorcycle is a mind game. Keep the mind on the ride from exiting the friction zone to kick stand down at the end of the ride.

glad to hear he didn't get hurt with that. it could have ended up much worse. you can always replace the bike, but thank GOD he wasn't hurt. good thing his ins company is taking care of it. thats a nice hunk of change he can use to get an "upgraded" bike.

stuart.

I hope this will end well for you. Are they going to give you any sort of warranty?

Over the winter I installed a "belly pan" .to keep out those nasty cats. Good to hear your OK and should be on the road soon

Friend of mine was loading his 2000 Trike onto a trailer and the bottom of the engine cases hit the trailer and cracked one, his insurance put a new motor in it. I thought he meant "used new to him" .... but he swears it was "brand new".
