Allergies

Postby OldZX11Rider » Mon Apr 11, 2016 6:40 pm

Weather is getting better, got new stuff on a shelf in the shop for the bike and allergies flare up.

Got to get some raw honey. Don't know if it'll help me now, but it won't hurt. Grandpa had 32 beehives at one time. As a kid growing up, we always had a gallon or two of his honey. Never had problems with allergies clear up til my late 20's. (Then grandpa died.)

Anyhow, darned allergies are keeping me from doing what I want to get out and do.

Do any of the OTC allergy meds work? :)

Yeah, it's really got me down. :(
Don't know of any cvs stores around here but there's a few Walgreen stores around. Probably have the same stuff in a different wrapper.

I don't have many allergies but Claritin works pretty well when I do get watery eyes and sneezy.

My wife has gone to town (for the second time) she's going to pick me up "something".
Earlier she said two or three things, Claritin was one of them. Now it's just "something".

you guys are lucky to be able to take some allergy meds and pretty much be alright. I have a food allergy, an eppy pen helps with breathing otherwise the reaction has to work its way through my system. what food am I allergic to you ask? onions, can't eat them and a good whiff will cause my wind pipe to swell. what was the worst experience? back in November of '92 I ate a half of a 12" steak sub from subway that shouldn't have had onions on it. I was stuck in the house for almost two months, I came off all meds in October of '98

That's really got to suck! And I guess you're right, I wouldn't want to trade allergies with you, I really like onions. ;)

Feeling a whole lot better now. I'm thinking I jumped to the conclusion it was an allergy because of the time of year and a couple symptoms. ;)
But I don't get over springtime allergies this fast. I took Claritin once and I'm taking a spoonful of raw honey morning and evening. (Going to keep doing that.).

It seems everything came out yesterday and last night, one way or the other. Don't have any stamina right now but feeling better. ;)

Get some histablock. You will need to Google it because you can only buy it online. I can tell you I have some really bad allergies and this stuff works great. In the spring riding was almost impossible now I take this everyday and I have no issues at all and it doesn't make you drowsy. Everyone I know that has tried it says it is the best thing they ever used.

Okay. I'll get some. It's that time of year and I don't think I'm out of the woods yet.

My GF has them pretty bad, goes through allergy injections on a regular basis. She doesn't seem to like most otc meds but she does like and uses a neti-pot (sp?). She doesn't use it year round but just when the seasons flare up... then once a day and sometimes twice. It does work...

Right now I'm taking the Claritin and it seems to be holding things to a tolerable level. ;)
I found the Histablock on Amazon but I haven't ordered it yet. Whatever I started out with last week, my wife has now. :(
Seems to have hit her harder than me. Just something going around I guess.
