Fort McMurray Fire disaster

Post by WingAdmin » Mon May 09, 2016 11:12 pm

I know this has nothing to do with Goldwings, but I hope you will allow me this small diversion.

This terrible fire in Fort McMurray Alberta has touched me personally in a number of ways.

On the positive side, my youngest brother Alan, a 737 captain with Canadian North, has been flying disaster victims (and their pets!) out of the fire zone for days now.

On the negative side, my aunt and uncle, and my two cousins are now homeless. The home owned by my Aunt Marion and Uncle Willie has burned to the ground, and they have lost everything except the clothes on their back and the car in which they escaped.

They're too humble to ask for help, but I've set up a small funding site to help try to defray some of their short-term expenses. If you could donate even a dollar or two, it would mean the world to them. Please have a look and do what you can to help. Thank you.
