Cause of traffic jams!

Postby WingAdmin » Thu May 12, 2016 3:03 pm

Here's what turns the our highways into a parking lot every day. No bottleneck or accident involved, but watch what the momentary slowing of the white car causes.

Throw a few Volvo drivers into the mix and add a liberal dose of illegal mobile phone users and it very quickly starts deteriorate.

I reality, in that situation, (following too close) a car doesn't even have to slow, just a brake light will cause the same.

Back in the mid 1970's the overall traffic was lighter.
During PERFECT weather and cloudless days the Dan Ryan (I-94 south of Chicago) traffic ZIPS along without incident.
BUT (always a but somewhere) on NUMEROUS occasions if there was JUST ONE CLOUD in the sky, it would create a backup.

Add the mix of today's TEXTING.....

Interesting. I suppose the same thing happens when an idiot tries to merge on to the 70 MPH interstate at 45 MPH.

Wisconsin fixed that problem. Merging traffic you must move over if there's room to do so.
Fixing one problem usually creates another problem.

Up until 10-15 years ago Americans were pretty well adjusted to other American drivers. We could almost mind read what they were going to do. Now the mass influx of imported drivers driving the WACKY WAYS of their country.
LOL! That be a new thread to start. No doubt the stories would be many.

Its irritating for almost all concerned.
(Everyone except those encouraging open borders, apparently.)
I was having a pickup towed because one of the south of the border immigrants (illegal?) didn't think a drivers license was necessary to drive in the U.S.
While waiting for a tow truck, I asked him if a drivers license was required to drive in his home country. He said yes. But he had no answer when I asked him why he thought he could drive here without a license.
Probably can't tow their vehicles now just because they're not licensed.

It seems our JUDGES feel the same way. "Nothing we can do, our hands are tied. Call and let NSA deal with it."
My question is, "IF" you are a judge of our laws, why not enforce said laws. After all, NO ONE is immune.... right?!

It IRKS me that judges are supposed to keep our laws under control yet won't.
Speaking if traffic cops and judges...
Some BRIGHT LIGHTS driver didn't dim said lights and that caused me to deviate from my lane. OH but the cop says he didn't see a car with bright lights on, just me. ODD, his cop car cam shows the bright lights glaring up his car cam recording to the point you can't see anything.
So that makes me curious, how many accidents were caused by oncoming vehicles blinding bright lights?
And now HID lights are legal?
MAN-O-MAN, I sure can use two SEVERAL MILLION candle watt powered HID's. 8-)

Right! At least that was the original idea.
Seems like with certain groups getting "special" rights and everyone getting so concerned about "their" rights, they can't see how they're trampling everyone else's rights.

In the beginning there was,
"...in order to form a more perfect union..." to which we were doing quite well.
Then came the Liberals.

I've heard the problem with liberalism, like communism, is that you eventually run out of other people's money to spend. 8-)

"Bleeding Heart Liberals"
Lawyers hungry to make a name.
Prosecutors prosecuting cops.
Cops afraid/won't do their jobs.
Judges that listen to the above.
Politicians in politics for themselves.
Big government interference, from a rectum that says give me your children or else no more tax $'s!

I avoid all big cities, is there even one that is safe for a stranger to visit?

I HEAR YA!
It used to be every time I go to Chicago I get a ticket, so I avoid it like the plague.
Today if you go to Chicago you may get SHOT. Now at all costs, I avoid that plague.

OK!!!
IF you get stopped for speeding on an expressway in a city your reason is,
"Officer, I'm just trying to out run all the bullets!"
He might  let you go.

I was making one or two trips a year to Chicago. Instead of going back there I just decided to totally retire.
I never had any problems but I don't want to press my luck. :D
