OMG,,, Bikes are going cheap man..

Postby littlebeaver » Thu May 12, 2016 5:16 pm

First off, I can't get a call for my Kawasaki Voyager for sale to save my soul...LOL But what I have noticed is all these other bikes for sale and they are giving them away... I paid $4k for mine and put on new tires and did some work on it like new plugs and filters ect.... And I can't even get a call for 3k now on it.. Holy Toledo.... I see other's trying to sell their Voyagers too, $2.100, $3500, $3k, Wow with low miles too.. What's going on,, I see goldwings for cheap man... People are not wanting to ride or what...Wow....I'm selling because my daughter is going off to school in Texas, I still have my GL 1100 but this Voyager kicks man..Nice bike...3k if you know someone that wants a nice nice bike let me know....

Have you checked the suggested price range found in the Kelly blue Book or the NADA book? And if you want to move it quick, the lower the price the faster it may sell.

I've noticed over the last year or so an increasing number of used motorcycles being imported from the US into the UK, especially from the dry, sunny states. This is an example http://www.dcmotorcycles.co.uk/used-HAR ... ire-687226

OMG,,, Bikes are going cheap man..
. . . . the Liberals and Millennials are causing it. :o

There's 2 Kaw 1200 full boats around here for sale.
One has been for sale for over 2 years now. His price an UNWAVERING $3800.
The other just listed week ago. $2400-?

What I hear & read, it's springtime and many want a new bike for NO TROUBLE riding this summer.

The problem with most of what you list is it is only what is expected. Tires are not new, and what is the manufacture date, most folks really have no idea the difference in shields, a hitch on a touring bike is a nice asset but may mean the bike has been towing stuff and possibly stressed the frame? and the shocks although not OEM are an expected part of the bike. The point I am trying to make is that farkles really don't add much if any, to the value of a used bike at resale. Just be sure that your concept of what your bike is worth and its real sale value are not too far apart. And don't forget that no matter how you view the Kawasaki, it is an old bike, parts are scarce, technicians that know how to work on it are few, and many dealers will not touch it because of the age. All of this works against you.

I've had two of those Kawasaki Voyager XII's. Got good reliable service from both and they seemed to have a little more "zip" than the 1200 Goldwings of the 80's.
Yours looks very nice from what I can see on my wally world cell phone. Hard to believe no one has even made an offer on it.
Probably as soon as you take it off the market, you'll sell it. Good luck.

I've been riding since the very early 70's. In that time, one thing I have noticed is that any mods, or replacements (such as new tires or etc), should be done only to suit yourself. Because they rarely, if ever, turn out to have any bearing whatsoever on resale value.

Sad...but true.

If you explain to the buyer that this was your motorcycle and you wanted it done right! It matters,,, The newer E-3's is what sold it,, Plus all the other neat stuff I put on it.... If another biker knows his stuff, it matters, it's one less thing he has to fool with... :D He got a good deal and I'm please with the sale.....Besides his wife loved the color...LOL
