Riding with kids

Postby Subhunter76 » Sun May 15, 2016 11:06 pm

New to the forum, just picked up a 1994 goldwing aspencade with a California sidecar. Since I'm no longer with my wife I decided it was time to take my kids on rides with me. Been going through the thing bit by bit. Upgrade the speakers to the Polk audio, changed the oil and the fuel filter, replace the sidecar light with an led light and added a USB charge port to the left pocket and the side car. I picked up an extra rear wheel, I'm in process of replacing the bearings and mounting a car tire to it. When I replace the air filter I found out why I was getting 120 miles to a tank. It's been cleaned up and I put a screen cover over the intake. I just ordered passenger floorboard risers cause my daughter and sons feet don't quite reach. Currently I'm trying to get a used Russell seat. Got one on my 04 beemer and I can ride on that thing forever.[img]

nice looking rig you have there.
hopefully your kids will enjoy riding and you can have many years of great rides

wow what a mess in that filter, makes me want to check mine again
I have to say 120 per tank sounds about right with the hack, that's about what I get with mine

Are those Styrofoam beads in there?
Any clue how, whatever they are, got in there?
It is a nice looking combo. ;)

Waited a week for a new filter, still picking poison pellets out when I pull panels off. Fortunately none of the wiring got chewed on.

Not finding any chewed up wires is a good thing. That could lead to all kinds of problems.
