Just an update

Postby halcombrick » Sun May 22, 2016 1:21 am

Hey guys, I haven't been on in a while, but I've really one some detailing and added a trunk wrap, floorboards and a heel toe shifter as well as 200watt 6" pioneer speakers in the fairing. I'm loving this old honda,101,000 and purring like a kitten.

can you show a pic of your fairing speaker instal? I have an 82 aspencade that I just installed 5.25" speakers and made my own speaker housings. I would be curious how you mounted the 6" speakers.

Here is a pic of my 5.25" speakers and the housings I made. Never mind the blank space between the speakers, I removed the stereo because I'm in the process of repositioning the mount.

I'll post a pic tomorrow but I actually cut holes out for the speakers and turned the fairing into a giant speaker box.

There was just aenough room that the speaker barely touches the turn signal housing.

malcom, those speakers look good in there. i thought about cutting the fairing to install my speakers but I just didn't have the heart to cut a perfectly good fairing. That's the reason that I decided to make speaker housings. It looks like my speakers are up higher and to the outside more than yours. With my speakers, when turning the steering left or right, the top of my temp and gas gauge housing clears the speaker housing by less than a 1/4".
Here is a pic of my finished stereo and speakers.

Bill55, my first Goldwing Aspencade looked like the one in your avatar. Made many good memories on that bike and when I started looking for another Goldwing last year, I tried to find another one like it. Wasn't looking for an 1100 particularly, but if it was that two-tone brown, well that would have been different.
But then I found my 1500 and not ever having had one of those, I got it. Your speaker installation looks good on there too. :D
