what should I do? I updated bike.

Postby greenbaypackfan » Fri May 27, 2016 3:31 pm

I have a 1996 Interstate which I have been updating ever since I got it( I am 3rd. owner). It now has everything except for reverse, which I will be fixing this month. I recently bought a lower mileage engine and tranny, with reverse. Should ,or do I have to get it re titled . It will now have all the SE options, plus more. But going from 530,000 miles to 33,000 and reverse is worth it to me. Then all I have to do is figure out what to do with all the extra parts, including the motor. Any ideas.

Go with the low mileage engine and get your reverse. Keep the other motor for spare parts. :D.

What OldZX11Rider said and then ride it.
I shouldn't need to be retitled if you have the one for the bike and only changed the engine. If you still have doubts, contact your motor vehicle department or check on their web site.

Is this a typo or has this 10 year old bike averaged almost 4500 miles a month?
If it really has 530k miles, I would sell it back to Honda for them to display it as a testament of the durability.

I guess I should have pulled my shoes off too when I was counting.

Still, averaging 2200 miles a month and having 530k is something, especially up in Wingsconson where there is usually a break in the riding season.

He's also the third owner, so no telling where it's from or how many miles were racked up by PO's.

True, a lot of speculation going around, but still haven't heard from the OP as to the details.

How are you holding up in the rain? My son says it has let up a bit where he's at.

The rain in DFW was only a problem when it was actually raining. Since it didn't have anywhere to go quickly, it would pool up on the road.
I had a group ride scheduled this past weekend for the Granbury area (SW of Ft Worth) that had been really flooded, but when I did the pre-ride on Friday, all the roads were clear and the ride turned out great.
We're now scheduled for the regular June weather, in the 90's and dry with little chance of rain.

That's the stuff my daughter-in-law hates. The muggy, sticky air.
Glad to hear you didn't get flooded out.
