Jammed "Joe Rocket" Zipper

Post by SilverDave » Mon Jun 06, 2016 11:52 pm

Not really a GL1200 problem, but ....
Its finally gotten warm enough up north to convert my Joe Rocket Three season jacket to " Mesh "
and of course , that zipper thats rarely used on the outer garment is jammed at the bottom end .
Right now its soaking overnight with a drop of penetrating oil, carefully applied .

Any other suggestions ???

Heavy Sigh

If you do not get it to work, take it to a tailor, and have the zipper replaced. Alternatives - do it yourself, have your wife do it, buy a new jacket.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Unfortunately this is a theme with Joe Rocket gear. I have had quite a bit of it over the years, my wife as well, and without fail, every single piece - jacket, pants, whatever, was retired because of failed, jammed zippers. They use cheap zippers. I don't buy Joe Rocket anymore for that reason.

On the other hand, I have had no such problem ever with any of my Olympia gear. We had to pull over and fix my son's Joe Rocket pants on one trip:

Zipper replacement tain't bad... took much longer to remove the old one. I replaced my winter coat with a $12.00 TWO-WAY zipper <<< HIGHLY recommend.
It's not pro looking but it works.

At first glance, them ZIP TIES look painful.
