Bike Cover

Postby hap2 » Thu Jun 16, 2016 6:29 pm

I'm looking at getting another cover for the bike (92 1500SE) & wondering if I need an XXL or what?

Is Nelson Rigg a good brand? (like my neighbor has on his Wing) or what do u suggest?

Thanx

The Nelson Rigg I bought was the size recommended by Dennis Kirk Inc and the largest that they made. It is the worst cover I have ever owned. It is very difficult to put on due to the extremely tight elastic around the bottom. It also does not cover the sides completely as it appears to be too short on the sides. Maybe it fits the 1800 better. I have the stock size windshield. The "soft" panel that is sewn into the windshield area is not sufficiently large enough to overlap the edge of the windshield and the seams have scuffed the edge areas. The cover fabric also scuffed the saddlebags and the spoiler paint.
On the plus side... It is very attractively designed and waterproof.
It is still sitting on a shelf in my garage. I'll never buy another one. The one I bought to replace it... http://cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/ultraga ... /126/94256
Fits perfectly and is very water resistant.

You can also get one from Wing Stuff that fits like a glove, or at least the one I got for my GL1800 does.

you can find it here:

I bought the same Ultraguard cover for my '96 SE about 6 months ago and am very pleased with it.

The box cover looks like the Black over Charcoal, which is the one I bought.
