Pain in the Neck- muscles ...

Post by flw » Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:36 pm

I get sore neck muscules during rides after the first hour and it gets worse as time goes on till I stop. I flap my wings/elbows to ensure that my arms are not tense but it still happens.

Any type of stretching or excercising that will lengthen my neck/ trapezius endurance ? I'm also 49, so is age a factor? I sit straight and had the same issue on my previous bike a Kawasaki Vuclan 500.

I have a non-adjustable stock seat on my 1500 with no backrest (backrest to be added in the next week) . What can I do or work on? Both during the ride and before?

Are you leaning forward? If so, try adjusting the handlebars back a bit so that you sit upright a bit more.

I agree. Even a slight forward lean over time will begin to hurt. Slouching also.

Yeah, it's an age thing too. ;)

try some small adjustments to the angle of the handlebars...
