headsets to fit flip-open helmets

Postby sailor30 » Sun Jul 24, 2016 3:48 pm

We just bought CK-X modular helmets (flip-open) ((Kimpex company, I believe) but didn't know how difficult it would be to find headsets to fit. We want to chat with passenger, listen to audio and USB, and navigation system with the headsets. Can you help us find some that will fit our helmet and hopefully plug into our 5-pin connection?

First, welcome to the forum.
I have the modular helmets as well.
I tried to save money by buying some Hondaline headsets and didn't like the sound.
I switched to J&M and love them.

J&M make headsets specifically for flip-up (modular) helmets. They're what I have, for doing precisely those things. Here's an example (they have several models) - http://wingstuff.com/products/35464-j-m ... t_headsets

We appreciate your helpful suggestions. Shall check out the website your just sent us for the J&M helmets, although we've checked some of theirs already. They do have good reviews, but the way our modular helmets are made, we're not sure if we could fit them on, unless we glued it on...
Does anyone have opinions on other brands, such as the HS-G130P 5 pin sets?

I had the same issue with my helmets. There is no way that I could have installed them myself like I had other models.
I ended up sending the helmets and headsets to J&M and they did a custom install for me.
Very reasonable and work like a dream.
