Upholstery

Postby BlacGoldwing1979 » Tue Sep 06, 2016 5:52 am

Just want to pass along information in case anyone needs it. My wife does upholstery work. She can redo cars, boats, bikes, trucks. She was employed at General Motors for 14 years. So if anyone needs anything done, including custom made motorcycle covers, my number is 901-517-8329. Thanks for your time.

First, welcome to the forum. Good to know of a source for this that is "one of us".
Whenever the question comes up about modifying or replacing a seat, the group usually advises to turn to someone locally to redo the existing seat.
You might consider setting up a webpage with some examples of her work and capabilities that we can view and bookmark.

Thank you for the kind words. Yes I'm the proud owner of an 84 GL1200. Just got it yesterday. Before I had a 79 GL1000. Not a bad bike, but this 84 puts it to shame. I'll attempt to set up something where her work can be displayed. Don't know how to put pictures here. But I'll figure something out.

I started out with an '86 1200 and now am on my 2nd 1500. It seems that each model just keeps getting better.

WingAdmin put a how-to on adding pictures here in the Reference section.
You should be able to add pics in no time.

Make sure that you update your info to the new bike as well and post some pics of your new baby too. :D

I just recently owned a 1985 Aspencade 1200 and had the driver seat and the passenger backrest as well as passenger pouches on each side reupholstered with a local man here in my small town.
Well worth the investment.
Sure does improve the looks of the bike over all.
I hope your wife doesn't get to buried in orders Blacgoldwing1979 . LOL :D

That new upholstery on that '85 looks good. :D
