Online maintenance records?

Post by flw » Thu Aug 26, 2010 10:16 am

I saw this and wondered if I was the last person to use paper and pen.

Would you consider changing from your computer or paper/pen the following online type of tracking? My concern is that there are many web sites that don't last and take your input/info down with the site. I could also loose my papers or have my PC die on me.

BTW, I have nothing to do with the site or service or know anyone that does.

I keep my maintenance records (for bike and cars) in a file on my PC. I can print it out on paper if I like. Might not be as fancy as an online site, but it's worked for me for many years.

I do now and will continue to use a columnar pad kept in the garage so I can record everything as I work. No need for a backup.

I use honda ownerlink:

It's free, and I figure if Honda goes belly up, my service records probably won't matter much anyway :)
