New Dunlop Elite IIIs

Postby rrmiller73 » Mon Aug 30, 2010 9:14 pm

Just put new Dunlop Elite III tire on the old 1200 Goldwing. That really woke up the handling and boy are they smooth at Interstate speeds! I'll see how long they last. You don't notice any changes in handling as the tires wear but you can sure tell it when you put on new tires.

Took the bike to the local Honda dealer last month for the front. It was $200 turn key. Decided to do the back myself and bought it online for $140 then didn't have a bead breaker that would work so carried it in to the dealer and he charged $55 to mount and ballance. (He'd quoted $240 for the rear.) I would think Trike tires would be a whole differrent ball game from 2 wheelers since they don't lean to turn. I would guess a flat car like profile tire might work better on one but don't know.

When I rescued my wing last October, it had E3s that, while hardly worn ,were weather cracked. Replaced with a new set @ about $138.00 each and haven't had the slightest trouble. As far as handling, this is my first wing, hardly a sport bike, but I manage to stay out of trouble.

Firmly, Patrick
