I'm new to riding a Goldwing. I have been riding a 2001 Honda Shadow Spirit VT1100. I got back into riding at age 69, three years ago. Bought both bikes on e-bay, been lucky. The Goldwing is a 1990 GL1500. Flew to Chicago to pick it up. Rode it 910 miles home by myself. I couldn't believe how comfortable the ride was. Took two days of fun riding to get home. Next day went to Ocean City, MD Bike Week. Couldn't do that kind of riding on my Shadow.

Welcome to the group. I think your gona like your old-new wing. Just bought my 1991 gl1500 4 months ago, 6k miles and about 2k$ later, she runs like a new one. Just about have all the bugs worked out of it. Been riding motorcycles for 40yrs. this machine is somthing else. Taking me a little time to get use to it. Rides different. But the more I ride the more I like it. See ya out there.

Hi Saltydog - I'm from the OC Md. area, it was a great four days riding and venue visiting. I just got my first Goldwing coming up from a V Star 1100. It's also is a 90' 1500 SE totally loaded with 100K and drives like a dream. Put 1200 miles on it in the last two weeks and only had to get use to the extra weight when stopping but the handling while driving was outstanding ! Stay safe - GW
