Intercom cable

Postby cedobihal » Fri Oct 01, 2010 8:13 pm

Hi. I'm new to this forum. I just bought an 89 Goldwing SE. The seller gave me a pair of helmets fitted with mics and ear speakers, but no cables. The SE has OEM jacks. How do I find replacement cables to go from the OEM jacks to my helmets?

If possible you need to find out who made the headset that is installed in your helmets. It will not be the same manufacture as the helmet. J&N is a good guess but there are others. You will then need to contact the manufacture and get the "lower cord" that connects to your intercom. Standard Goldwing intercoms use a 5 pin DIN connector. If your helmet has the standard Hondaline headset you might have a little bit of trouble finding one. Honda had Panasonic make some of the earlier headsets and I think they use J & N now. You will also need to make sure the connector for your helmet is correct too. I think J & N uses 3 or 4 different styles now so plan on a long phone call when ordering.
