Dixies Hack!

G'day to Everyone!

well I finally found an acceptable chair to fit to my 88 and spent the past few weeks fitting it, I have named it "Dixies Hack" as my new love in life is Dixie, an 18 month old Staffy X Shar-Pei. She loves riding in the chair (sorry no pics yet :( ).

I now need to acquire a leading link front end and a colour change for the bike.

The hack is a HRD 1.5, the outfit handles great above say 70 kmh, but under that she is a handful (the wobbles!)

Apparently the fuel tank (under the boot) holds 38 Litres, but I will find out on a refill, the fuel pump is shot so another is on its way to me.

I removed the hand brake (god knows why as I am going to re-fit it), I am also going to fit a hydraulic calliper to the chair and connect it to the rear brake master, the front callipers will both be connected to the hand brake lever (Valkyrie fittings).

Happy and Safe Riding to Everyone :D

Peter.

That looks very nice, as you stated the wing needs a new coat of paint to match the chair.. :)

Now that looks cool.....and always a work in progress (paint matching, etc). Would be neat if bike was the candy apple red that really shows in the sunlight (just my honest opinion of course, lol).

I finally snapped a pic of Dixie sitting still enough in the chair :D

Leading link on order from Wasp, then a paintjob, the last quote I got was $3400, so it might be a while until I can amass enough penny's for it.

Does she like it? And more importantly, does she stay in it?

Well she seems to like it, anything over 70kmh and she curls up on the seat and goes to sleep (well she curls up anyway), I guess the air is still cold this time of year (early spring).
I fitted a seatbelt extension under the seat that just pokes out under, then I click the Doggie restraint lead in, attach Dixie on the other end and that's it, she stays in :D

Mate, I used to have a pekinese who rode on the pillion seat of my GL1500. I hope Dixie and yourself have a great time riding.

Will keep informed on her progress when there is anything to report.
