I have returned to the best site on the web

Well I'm back after a short time from the site with a stint with my 1997 Valkyrie and which is up for sale now on CL and a bargain at that. I just bought my old 1985 GL1200A back from the guy I sold it to 3 years ago and with only 3K more miles on it, 30K now. I hate to say it but he was not the best caretaker of it, some of the Ca. salt air got to it and will need a few new shinny peace's but nothing bad or major.
I hate to admit it but at 76 years young my memory is starting to slip some as I took my old friend out for get re-acquainted run and left one of the latches unhooked and you what happened, that's right, I lost the left side saddlebag lid so now I'm in the market for a very nice one. I'm finding out that there are a lot lost but few found or any good when salvaged but I will keep looking and if any of you run across a 1985 Pearl Vintage Red left lid I'm in the market.
I have to admit I have been popping in every once in a while to see what is going new and read some of the comments and now I will be back a lot more and maybe once in a while I can contribute a little to the conversation, so it's great to be back.

PS: I just remembered today is my birthday (77), now I know I'm starting to slip.

Not to laugh at your account, but I am laughing. Rough thing is that my wife and I (54 and 53 in that order) are starting to give those "deer in headlight" looks trying to remember things....and then all we do is laugh. Welcome to many more years of braincells giving up on us, lol.

Welcome back definitely. Though the Valk is a great bike, nothing like the Wing to bring you back.

Welcome back - like the 1200s. Here is a link to a site: http://www.straightwings.com/ Has some saddlebag lids, not cheap, but then what is.

Cheers
