I posted in the 1500 section about an intermittent no-start issue I'm having and I was going to start digging into that today, but when your son calls and wants to go on a ride with dad, well, you go! Fortunately it started fine for me today.

Ugh I hate posting pictures of myself, especially selfies but here we are fueling up, I'm rocking the Goldwing of course and he's on his CBR600RR. I was trying to get us and the bikes in the pic.

Winging it every chance I get 8-)

19,119 miles when I got it from dad Oct 15, 2017 --- 21,617 miles and counting as of May 17, 2018!

It was good weather (sorta) in the NW this weekend....wife and I headed to the coast in the "cage" to visit peeps, pick up some stuff, and ramble on back. Believe my bike will be on the road next weekend, getting warmed up for the upcoming season ;)

Ron - yep, it was dry out and relatively warm when we were heading out but a couple hours later it was getting pretty cold!

We went a little north of Smokey Point, up I-5 to the Chuckanut exit and up and around a winding road. I don't know those roads very well but my son does since he works in that area. It must be a popular motorcycle route, we passed many motorcycles cruising on that road.

Mag, I'll keep my eyes peeled for you when I'm passing through your area, a beige Goldwing with a short tinted windshield should be easy to spot. I'll be the guy with the red helmet and hi-viz vest like in the pic above and no front disc cover so I should be easy to spot too!

Glad to see you out riding with your son! I ride with my son every time we get the chance. I bet that you had the more comfortable ride though. But some of these young guys have an iron butt. Enjoy your times together while you can. :)

That is a deal....as much as most people on this board are from other states, we should be pointing at each other and saying "That is you!!!" when we go by, lol.

Yep I got him and his sister started early :) unlike him, she only rode when she was younger. But that experience made it easier to teach her how to drive a stick and she knows how to ride if she ever chooses to.

Here they are with a couple of those Chinese dirt bikes the auto parts stores sold around here before they got in trouble for them not meeting emission standards or something and stopped. Although the quality was incredibly bad, they were perfect learner bikes and I sold them for about half what I paid a couple years later, not bad. She's giving me that "DAD!" look, you can see the look on his face, he's hooked.

Here he is practicing on my CRF230F, we didn't ride much around this time so his skills stayed a little rusty for a while. I know, no gear, this was literally 5 mph around the yard and driveway.

And here he is a couple years ago, now he rides ATGATT as do I (well except those darn shoes), ok I'm having a proud father moment!

Got my son riding when he was in high school. Figured if he got into bikes he wouldn't have money or time for drugs. Soon after high school he was off to the Navy. 24 years later, we have the chance to ride together again. Got my grandson a Honda 125 dirt bike, same reasoning. Works well so far. He is AGATT like me and my son. One of his riding buddies decided one day that he didn't need all that stuff. Well, after getting a punctured lung, it kind of reinforced the idea. Those that don't wear it may some day wish they had. After they wreck it is too late
