Parts for my 'wing.

Post by rogertee » Thu Oct 28, 2010 2:10 am

Hi from New Zealand,
I am the proud owner of a 1982 GL1100 interstate. I have owned the ol' girl for about 15 years now and have had some wonderful times on her. The biggest bummer tho' is the fact that 99% of the parts I need to keep her maintained have to come from your part of the world.
I have always used "Sabercycle" as their prices are, to me anyhow, reasonable and their customer service is good. I am wondering if there may be some other company that I can source parts from that may be even more cost effective. The exchange rate at present isn't too bad so I'm trying to make the most of it while the going is good. If anyone has a suggestion or two that i can look into I'd be grateful.

Saber Cycle's customer service is good? That's the first time I've ever heard THAT about them! If you have an hour to read through the horror stories, check out this thread: Beware of Saber Cycle

Are you talking OEM replacement parts, aftermarket parts? What sort of parts are you looking for?

both OEM and aftermarket. Maintainence and cosmetic.
I can get filters, bearings and seals, tyres etc. here but anything like gaskets, clutch kits and the more specialised parts have to come via a Honda agent from Japan at HUGE cost with long delays.
I am surprised to hear that about Saber, as I said I have always found them to be good to deal with.
But more than 1 option has to be good.
