I recently moved up from a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT to a Goldwing 1800, 2008 (with only 150 miles on it) and the air-bag package. Heavy hummer, isn't it? The ride is much more comfortable than the Vulcan, although the Mustang seat I put on the Vulcan helped considerably. Learning how to handle the 600-lb Kawa gives me an advantage in handling the Wing, although I need to practice the techniques employed on Gary Sanford's "Slow Speed Cycling Seminar." Of course, Gary makes it look so nice and easy, but he does emphasize that practice will get me there. My priority will be to get more familiar with the very sensitive first gear/throttle control. Sound familiar?

My wife thoroughly enjoys the luxurious passenger seat, although getting into it presents a few high-jump challenges.

I look forward to getting to know some of you better and using your tips and techniques.
