End of the year

Postby WingAdmin » Sat Nov 06, 2010 3:52 pm

They're calling for a few inches of snow this afternoon, so this morning I pulled on my warmest gear and heated gloves, got the bike out, and took it for a ride up through the Cleveland Metroparks. After a bit I came home, got changed, changed the oil, pulled the battery, and put my bike away for the winter.

Of course, that will ensure that we are blessed with some gorgeous, sunny warm days over the next few weeks. :)

We're having some unseasonably warm weather here in Illinois, so...the bike stays on the road and out of the garage for a few more days. (maybe even into next week or even later!! :D )

Rode my Harley today, today was a very nice day for November. My 82 Goldwing is still waiting for the 83 aluminum spoke rim to come via UPS. The rim was bought from cfdistribution ebay. Hope there isn't a problem with switching from the comstar.
As long as I have my health then everything will be ok

I rode a minimum of a hundred miles each day last week, and Saturday, I washed the bike and got it all ready to put up for the winter, but did not take the battery out. Wouldn't ya know, today was absolutely gorgeous. So, another hundred miles. I bought this bike brand new on 01 Oct, and now have 2800 kilometers (1750 miles) on it. I cannot believe we have had this amount of riding weather here. 250 miles north of Toronto, Ontario. Best end of year I have had in 20 years.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

39 degrees tonight-but I could not resist the almost full moon and the star lit sky. Took the bike out for a ride and it was like heaven.

Went out for a nice ride with my daughter on the bike, could have just worn a pull-over but decided on a jacket as well (for safety)!! There are definately plusses to living in Texas.. Got to love this weather.. Have no idea how I survived 25 years in the UK (Salt, snow & ice!!).. No rush to go back.. :D

Going to be a cold ride for you today! We had snow over the weekend - briefly, but it was there.

Just got back from McD's for our monday AM coffee group. A little chilly. At noon the bike goes over to the garage for the winter. i just have to drive it about 5,6 miles. Might be little colder then, BUT it was SUPPOSED to be in the mid to high 40's. Anyway, the bike is going away for the next few months, and I'm all done riding for now. Boooo!!!

The bike got taken off the road a few days ago. We have had a really cold snap. The whole of Scotland has been hit by heavy snow falls and bitter cold. Currently sitting at -12Deg C here just now and about 6-7 inches of snow outside. The tax on the bike was due for renewal at the end of this month and the MOT test is due middle of next month. Think I'll just forget it for a few months.

Bummer.

Calling for snow for the next couple of days, so I guess so. I can't believe I put my bike away almost a MONTH ago. Still kicking myself. Next year I will NOT be putting it away earlier than December!!! :)

Rain is predicted here for the next couple of days. Had some sun a couple of days over the Thanksgiving holiday. Temps were only in the 40s but a warm pair of gloves and insulated riding clothes did the trick. Now that December is upon us I am going to need one more sunny day when I can ride so I can warm the bike up enough to change the oil so I can put her away for a few months. I always try to ride until the salt comes out and then I park it.

Right how it's about 40 degrees here in the Phoenix area. The sun has yet to come out as it is a quater to six in the morning. I like the heated seats and grips.

I managed a quick 30 minute ride week before Thanksgiving so I could run some Seafoam in the crankcase then change the oil for the winter. Oh, how I hated to see fall end, since we ended up with 8 inches of snow at my house by Thanksgiving day (gone now, though). I was very jealous of my buddy in San Diego who was out this week getting new skins put on his 1800 then heading to another shop for oil change, and just being out on the road. Gotta get back to the desert somehow.

My husband and I attended the John Force Holiday car show last weekend (the only two motorcycles signed up for the show). :D I went to the Wing Stuff Christmas Open House yesterday (the oldest wing in attendance). Next weekend is the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach. That ride may get a little wet, but I'm going anyway.

It will be 89 degrees here today. 8-)
