This is not a Harley Site But...

Postby littlebeaver » Fri Nov 12, 2010 3:51 pm

They are opening a Harley assembly plant in India.. It seems that Honda did something like that a few years ago, my 81, 1100 was built on US soil.. But Harley in India??? No offense to Indian's from there as I love all people but, Harley in India.. That's just wrong.. I would have never believed it, I read it on a Harley news site on line.. They.. Harley folks are so Hell bent on their bikes being USA built and all, now what? They are probably planning on shutting down the plants here in KC, Mo. The news tell's us the big shots are shaking up the management here and threatening...shape up or they will shut down the plant here.. Now what kinda message does that signal to your employees that make you millions of $$.. .. Any thought's on this? :o

if that is true it is a shame, after all there bragging made in the US buying. but it is for there oversea market, but it still would be a shame to do it for that. like said my wing was made here in the US, but not anymore they moved it to Japan, but that was to give them more room for building their cars here in the US.

From what ive read they are going to build the parts over here and then assemble them in India for that market only as India is no longer classed as a third world country but becoming one of the richest . Harley say that none of these bikes will make it to USsoil

I just bought a Goldwing instead of continuing with HD. I am fed up with the company, the pricing and the attitude that seems to follow fifteen minutes after purchase of one of their bikes by the brand new rich kid bunch. Goodbye Daytona and Sturgis, Hello Lake George/Americade, Hahahahaha.
