My wing was not so happy with me

Postby WingAdmin » Tue Aug 25, 2009 7:57 pm

Due to a combination of a 2 1/2 week vacation, a long weekend away, and lousy weather, my poor old Wing has spent the last 5 weeks alone, unridden, in my garage.

I decided to rectify that this morning, and ride it into work.

Now after a winter's sleep, my bike normally springs to life with a quick press of the starter. Not this morning. Almost a minute of cranking (not all at once!) was required before I could get her to stumble to life. Almost like she was being cranky for having been ignored for all this time.

Actually, I wouldn't mind two. A 1500 would fit quite nicely alongside my 1100. :) Just a lack of space for them both to live indoors. I'll have to build a shed out back to store non-essential items like the lawn tractor, snowblower, and my spare GL1100 engine and parts.

Hi there, HOW CAN U EVER leave your Wing alone for so long???!!!!!!

Without even so much as an occasional pat on the tank, a slight rub of the seat and a lot of sweet talking to!!!!

No wonder she was cranky. It must have the ultimate trauma to her. Forget you wife, your kids anything but your Wing.

Greetings from Denmark

I've made it up to her - ridden every day to work for a week, then a 1200 mile long weekend trip riding twisty back roads all around Amish country in middle Ohio. I think she's forgiven me (the bike, not the wife). :)
