Riding season is over, time to start other hobbies

Postby scratcho » Sun Dec 05, 2010 2:11 pm

Since I won`t ride in the snow, it it time to do my other hobby. I scroll saw pictures in wood. Here is one I just finished. It is the same photo as my avatar. Cut in 1/8" baltic birch plywood.

It was unbelievably cold - my boots did an excellent job of holding in the freezing lakewater (Lake Huron). After I went through the ice a couple times, there was no point in even attempting to stay dry anymore, so I just stopped caring. It took a good hour before I could feel my toes again! I was just determined that no matter what, that ATV was coming out of the ice.

The first attempt was to drive my truck out onto the beach, and hook the ATV's winch to it. However, instead of pulling the ATV out of the ice, it started dragging my truck towards the lake! I stopped that right quick...

I'm still having withdrawals,,,,,chest pain, short of breath, dizzyness.......I haven't really put the bike away yet, still trying to install accessories...I'm running out of money, I'm going to have to put it away soon. It's going to be a looooooong winter.
