New Goldwinger

Postby wally » Sun Dec 05, 2010 8:17 pm

I bought an 82 Aspencade with 47,000 miles on it, pretty stock and in great shape. I've had other Hondas but this is the first Goldwing. I plan to spend the winter detailing it. I live in Yale, Michigan (in the thumb) so year round riding is out. I love this site with lots of great folks and great help. Wally

Hello and welcome, the owner of the site has a 82 Aspy I'm pretty sure, just ignore me, I like saying it's the grounds all the time on posts just for fun because I'm no mechanic that's for certain.. but there are some really smart guy's here.. My only advise is this, order a extra clutch cable and keep it in your bag..

Hi, I am a new owner of on old 1982 Goldwing That needs a new battery, currently has a very small car battery, It runs and has less than 3,000 miles on it. Also needs some minor wiring work. Has soft and hard side bags and hard case that sits on the back what ever that it. Bike needs to be painted. It runs now, but will die in this cold weather unless you keep the RPM's up. I got it for 1000.00. The guy that sold it to me said the original owner hit a truck with it and bent the forks and has just sat for all these years. (forks have been replaced), also the radio appears to be missing, although I have not looked in all the cases. As a throw in I also got a 1980 Goldwing, which is a parts bike. The story on this one is prior owner was on his way to Sturges when he threw a rod. He had put on brand new tires for the trip. I plan to swap out the wheels so I have new rubber on bike. The 82 has approximately 50% left. I was thinking of parting out the 1982 bike. I am not sure if there would be much demand for the parts off the 1980. The 1982 is black and the 80 is red. I kinda like the red more but if I have the one bike repainted it probably does not matter. I have not listed any parts on E-bay or Craigs list. If any one here needs a part let me know. I have not started on disassembling the 1980. Other than the top half of the engine which was not damaged.
