Haven't road since 1985

Postby rl_alford » Mon Dec 13, 2010 6:02 pm

Haven't Owned a bike in quite awhile, in last 4 months have bought 6 bikes, 2 honda shadows, one a 600cc to practice on, then went to a honda 1100 shadow, then restored a 1982 goldwing, that was my Dads, he rode it until he was 92 then parked it. I gave it to my Middle son, and gave my youngest son the 600 shadow, then bought 3 more goldwings, a recked 1996 to restore, and 2 1985 goldwings in great shape

I keep my bikes in an 18' double axle covered trailer with a drop ramp back door. Also got workbenches built in. It is pretty handy if I want to haul them somewhere away from the snow and the cold, lol.

Here ya go. I went out and snapped some pics to give you an idea or two. The trailer has eight floor rings under the rubber coin surfaced garage floor mat, and the workbench area has foam flooring. One day I intend to put strapring strips on both sides to stabilize the bikes side to side, but for now, hauling straps work pretty good. It needs a pretty good truck to haul it if it has tools on board, but I mostly put the tools in the back of the truck, with the generator. The workbenches are set up for power, and all I need to do is plug the generator into the outside plug on the trailer and I'm good to go. I have a compressor, so air tools are also set up, but only lite duty. An electric impact takes care of any bigger jobs. The boys love it when I bring this to rallies, because we can pretty much rebuild a bike right on site. We always need a driver tho, cause I prefer to ride.
