Back from 3 weeks in the UK

Postby thrasherg » Thu Dec 30, 2010 10:44 pm

Well it's good to be back in Texas, just spent 3 weeks in England (lots of snow) and the high temperatures were all below 0C (32F), froze my butt off and couldn't ride due to all the snow and ice. Finally got a flight back to the USA and took my wing out for a ride today (temp was 72F, just perfect for riding!!) I had forgotten how much fun it is riding a wing.. Just wanted to wish everyone a great new year and hope you had a merry Xmas. I now remember why I left the UK 20 years ago!! I hate the wet and cold!! But it sure is a beautiful place.

All the best for 2011

Gary

I have family there (in England) and have spent lots of time there - the snow they have had is just crazy for this time of year! You sure picked a great time to go visit! :)

Gary,
Just thought I would let you know the snow has cleared and roads are now fine. Typical British weather.

Thanks Guys,

Glad to hear things have warmed up in the UK, but I still prefer Texas!! Had to go for an American Visa, not my choice of when to go!! Usually try to visit during the wet summer months, rather than the cold winter months.

Welcome back, now you can at least ride again. I have not been back since I left back in 1992, I arrived in the U.S. 1994 after having sailed down to South Africa on my own sail boat. Met a young lady from the U.S. in Cape Town, and we sailed together and that's how I came to be here in the U.S. and have been here since. Would like to go back to the U.K. just to visit but not to stay. I would miss my riding all year round.
