Seat Leather conditioner

Postby furnacedoc » Fri Jan 07, 2011 4:35 pm

Hello Everyone, Since winter is here I have washed , waxed Polished my windshield, changed oil and sat back and keep hoping for an early spring. Can anyone tell me should I use a leather condioner or something on my seat to help preserve it or is there anything else that I should do over the winter months. I have a "97" Wing 1500SE. Love my wing ,can't wait to ride.

I say just sit on it and pretend your riding it. That will keep it dusted off anyway. Sorry, I don't have a valid answer. I'd try armor all or saddle soap. Or just go buy a Honda product.
As long as I have my health then everything will be ok

Don't use Armor All! It makes the seat very slippery, and the first time you try to corner, you'll find yourself trying to stay on the bike!

Are you sure the seat is leather, and not vinyl?

ArmorAll. You don't have to drown it, and you can wipe most of it off before riding it again.
ArmorAll it for storage. Leather conditioner won't do much good for it's cost, your seat isn't leather (unless you have a Corbin).
Don't spook the road sheep.

Baby wipes- Yes - baby wipes! They will clean and moisturize your vinyl seat.
Don't use Armor all. Yes, we all know it makes things slick-but the real reason is it outgases and will cause the material to dry out and become brittle over time!

"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "
