Does anyone out there know if there is an android app for navigating what's left of historic route 66? I would like to make the trip but I would like to be able to tell how far points of interest are from each other and current location. I will only have 2 weeks to make the entire trip from Florida to Chicago to California and back to Florida. I need to make every turn count.
In Sep '09 I did a trip from Florida to Minnesota around lake Superior to Minnesota and back to Florida on an '82 Oldwing. 4,000+ mi in 1 week, not much time for sightseeing. I would like to be able to better manage my time on a route 66.
Anything goes - doesn't fit any other category!

My Gamin Nvui has many Route 66 routes. I think most gps's have it in their system files. You can also download points of intrest as well. I just did this last week to see waht I would get. As for the android, I haven't got a clue on what they offer. I prefer the Garmin over the gps in my phone. Old fashion I guess. But I have more faith in it. The newer the cell phone, the more bugs it has. O,, and you don't have to buy a gps made for a bike. Thats a joke. With the right mount andy gps will work. Just make sure you have a cover for it if it rains!
How many times do I have to tell ya,,, The right tool for the right job!
