where to 1200 Goldwing Thermoswitch

Postby midnightrider1 » Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:54 am

Wow just call the Honda dealer to see about buying a thermoswitch that controls the fan. Wow I about fell over when the quoated me a price of $96.00 not counting tax. That is sure what I need. I am on socail security and $96.00 for a little switch that's seem like way over pricing to me.

Is there a better place to buy from than the Honda dealer that wants to rob an old man lol.

Frank

I'll look when I get home BUT I believe I still have mine from the 85 Aspy I had. I replaced it although it was still good.

I believe it is the same switch from what I remember. Sure am thinking about a toggle switch. Trying find out what all wrong with this bike.
Wish I knew more when I went and bought the darn thing. LOL

I be nice if you find it. I can't believe the price for one. I check eBay and found one store but I read some things I just don't trust him.
If all fails I can run a toggle switch. Bought this bike in Dec. and now just able to see what all wrong. Never work on a Goldwing before.
Who say you can't teach old men new things I learning LOL.

If that switch you found on e-bay is from Saber Cycle. Don't buy it. Temps are not correct on the switch they sell. Won't go into the thousands of other reasons.

If you can remove your defective switch and post a picture I might have one. I am building a project bike and needed a fan temp switch and bought several to find one that would fit (They are all brand new). If you have a picture of yours I can see if I have one and would be happy to post it to you..

I haven't seen any picture of the sensor yet, but when I get home tonight I will take a picture with dimensions and you can tell me if it matches what you are looking for.

Thanks Rich, but people have always helped me with motorcycle issues over my 30 years of playing with them, so it's nice to be able to return the favor, plus we have such a great bunch of guys on this forum it would be remiss of me if I didn't help out!!

Thrasherg,

I fully agree with Rich (N2PPN), That was a really nice thing you did. Kinda warms this old heart of mine. Absolutely right, paying it forward. I knew when I bought my goldwing I would eventually meet some really nice people. 8-) Thanks.. ;) :D

Hi Rich

Yes I am smiling from ear to ear on what Gary did for me.
It was very nice of him to do a kind act.
I think this is a very great group.
Maybe I can return the favor to someone as well.

Hi Kevin

Yes there are some really nice people here. I think most bikers do have kind hearts and help others no matter what they ride.
Haven't been on a bike in years I have had a few bikes over the years but never a goldwing.
I ready to ride ASAP LOL. :D

Yep them critters are out for dinner them ticks are. Yes I it will help to get the bike running. It will be getting close very soon. Its valve covers leak a bit but will get to that soon as well. Getting this switch and antifreeze in be ready to go around the block or 2 to see how it does. Gives me something to do as well and things to think on. Way gas is getting got to get it going. LOL
