Making A Ugley Duckling from a Swain

Postby fastf » Sat Apr 09, 2011 6:42 am

Has everyone seen the 2012 Goldwing it's not a very good looking bike like the Goldwings before it.Honda had a swain and now it's a ugley duckling .Honda messed up a nice bike look at the saddle bags and trunk and there isn't any lights much back there.Once someone gets rear ended on a dark back road at night and get sued big time they might get the message the front looks like a BMW and the back looks like a victory motorcycle if a consumer wanted a BMW or a Victory they would want to buy one or the other.Honda was suppose to be the cutting edge as far as technology and function and other motorcycle companies would copy Honda ideas not the other way.Honda messed up taking the Goldwing back to Japan what it is us Americans cannot build a Good bike any more ? America was and use to be the test bed for the bike if it wasn't for us the bike would have went with the dinosaur and with the way it looks you might need to say.Take care and May God Bless

Let's hope the 12 is just a temporary model as the engineers/designers really design a new model.
If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. BF

Don't much care for the plastic 1500's and 1800's anyway. Owned a '93 1500 last year for about 2 months, sold it and bought another 1100.

Flux, constant flux. It will get better then worse then better again.

How do you tell which Goldwings are American made, and what years were made here?

Over one million Gold Wings were made at the Marysville Motorcycle Plant in Marysville, Ohio from 1979 until 2009, when motorcycle production there was halted.[2] Honda says that before the plant closed, sufficient 2010 model year Goldwings were produced to meet demand until production resumes in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan in 2011, when 2012 model year motorcycles will be produced using tooling transported from the old plant.[3] The 2011 model year was not produced.
