replacing hand grips

Postby wingman4560 » Sun May 15, 2011 3:48 pm

Hi - just purchased a 2002 wing within the last month and I am planning on changing the hand grips with some Kuryaken grips. My question is about the weights on the end of the bars. Are they needed ? also what is the purpose of them. :D

They reduce handlebar vibration. Can't answer whether you need them or not.

I have them on my VTX BUT it is a V-twin so it helps. I have the same grips on the wing and the end weights don't really do much becuse the engine is so smooth already.

The bar ends wouldn't look quite 'right' without them! ;)

Actually, I just replaced my grips with the HondaLine heated chrome grips... wow, what a difference. Not only do they look good, they are much better suited to my bigger hands than the original 'skinny' rubber grips. And the nice chrome bar end weights cover the holes at the ends of the handlebar just fine too!!

The Kury grips come with chrome ends, FYI.
