New Goldwing Owner
Hi. My name is Mike and I live in Oakville, CT. I just bought a 1983 Goldwing Interstate from a friend of mine. It has just over 46,000 miles. It needs a new battery and the carbs rebuilt. It'll be headed to the local Honda shop within the next few weeks. I can't wait to get it fixed and on the road. This website is awesome. So much useful information. Thanks and be safe.

Re: New Goldwing Owner
Welcome to the club, check on the timing belts, find when the last owner changed them or plan to do it fairly soon to avoid a nasty bill....

Re: New Goldwing Owner
So I did some checking and the previous owner never did the timing belts. So I'm adding those to my list too. The bike has been sitting for a little over a year. He did put Stabil in it after he last rode it. I'm gonna drain the fuel tank and do an oil change anyway. He also had some spare part for it including a pair of valve cover and timing covers that are powder coated red. I'm thinking about selling them or seeing if I can have them stripped down and powder coated black. It's a black bike so I think the red ones might not look good on it.
