Front fork air pressure

Postby OC4648 » Sun Jun 26, 2011 3:42 pm

I have a 1996 GL1500SE. The front forks call for 6 psi of pressure, I have 0 psi. Can these be service with regular air or does it require nitrogen?

You use regular air from a small hand pump like the one in the photo, not air from a compressor as it is too powerful.

Is the 6 P.S.I. a preload or can you use the on board compressor?

I know on the 85 limited & 86 SEi they had an auotleveling suspension that worked off the compressor.
My 1993 must be filled with a small hand pump.
