Jackets ??

Postby jobe05 » Sun Jul 17, 2011 5:40 am

Anyone have any suggestions on a good Jacket that is reasonably priced?

Looking to get something for me and my son. We would like good protection but also good ventilation and hopefully waterproof.

So far, I have looked at Leatherup.com which looks good on price, but nothing we found that looks comfortable.

I bought a tourmaster last year. While it was a little more than I hoped to spend, I did not others recommendation. It has the armor but it is almost like not wearing a jacket. I am comfortable up to 90 and then it's a little bothersome. As for the fitment, it is very comfortable, I forget I have it on.

It also has a couple of liners 1-is the waterproof jacket and it works as advertised. 2-is the shell to keep you warm. It is thin but it is warmer than any leather jacket I have ever owned. I am good down to freezing without any other layers, just a shirt.

Great quality and 3 jackets for under 200. It is nice to have the other 2 jackets handy without taking up space in Spring and Fall.

There are no doubt other good ones, I am hooked on these and as they appear to be very well made and adjustable too. Good luck with the hunt.

Thanks L2R, I looked at the tourmasters and liked what I seen. I ordered 2, the tourmaster air series for my son and the Tourmaster transition series 2 for myself. They had all the features that I was looking for.

Wow...... Stupid me just looked and realized that LeatherUp was one of the advertisers on here. I can tell you after looking all over the net and in local shops, They have a huge selection at extremely low prices. And not just by a couple of bucks, 30% to 50% less in most cases. So far very pleased with leather Up, glad to see they're an advertiser.

Actually it's just Google ads...if you type LeatherUp in a post, and Google has LeatherUp as an advertiser, it will automatically stick ads from them in with those posts. The ad server is context-sensitive. It's a little more complex than that, i.e. if LeatherUp doesn't want to advertise in Iowa, and you happen to be located in Iowa, then you won't see a LeatherUp ad.

Basically, the ads you see, are not necessarily going to be the same ads that other people see.

As well, it knows that if you just spent five minutes searching for "motorcycle jackets" on Google, Amazon, etc., and then you come here, the Google ad server will start showing you "motorcycle jacket" advertisements.

I bought a Olympia Air Jacket last year, it comes with a water proof liner, I got mine for $100 in Chicago at the international motorcycle show.
