Light diming

When I appliy my brakes my lights seem to dim. I have a brand new battery, but hey still seem to dim I can tell at night more than during the day evenwhen I allow someone to ride my bikeand I see them in th rear view mirrow.

Sounds (looks?) like there is a heavy current load somewhere in the brake light circuit. Check all lights, connectors, etc for corrosion and/or short circuits, especially any stuff that has been added, or other modifications. Good luck, and let us know what you find out.

Don't forget you have something like 6 bulbs that come on all at once, and the current draw is quite significant. This is considered "normal".
I'm thinking about going with LED replacement bulbs when I get enough cash to convert over.

Another thing you should look at is the earth on the bulbs. If not proper, it would seek an earth somewhere else. You sometimes notice it on cars and trailers where the earth wire on the plug is off and the electrical is looking for an earth through other bulbs in the circuit.

most alternators (and stators ) don't start charging the battery until the rpm's come up. if the lights brighten when you rev it some its cahrging if the lights don't brighten you are not charging. how is your battery and check out this post ... f=6&t=8078
