2012 Wing trike

Post by agoldtrike » Sun Oct 02, 2011 10:30 am

Wondering if anyone has tried a ride on a new converted wing trike or Goldwing bike? I have a 2006 and heard the seat is new and more comfortable on the 2012. I have had trouble with seat comfort on my trike. Looking for a better ride.

Do you ride a GL Trike? I've just bought a GL 1500 Trike here in Thailand, not sure that there are any more around the country, so am desperately looking for someone to advise on handling it. Have ridden bikes for fifty years-odd, so not new to them. Also had a combo for some years, so used to 3-wheels! Any advice?

There is a different "cover" on the seat. The seat is "different" in that it will not fit on previous Wing models. My opinion is many say "it's more comfortable" simply because they are sitting on a new seat that has not been "worn in" by many mmiles of sitting on it.
I also have an 06 Trike (06 Wing w/a 2010 Hannigan). Cured my seat concerns w/a $20 jell material cushion from WalMart.
Unless you jusr want a new Trike, you might give that cushion a try.

Or you could try here:

I have an Ultimate, and it is great. The company is not so easy to deal with, but the seats are good.

It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

I bought a new 2012 Gold Wing and do feel the seat is more comfortable than my 2007 was. For my 2007 I ended up with the Wingsoft seat and that was more comfortable for my 2007. Right now I only have 900+ miles on my bike and I think the jury is still out if the seat will remain comfortable. I will post more info when I have more miles on the bike which will be converted to a trike before the end of this month.
