New Guy From Canada

Just bought an 04 Goldwing. First bike in about 20 years. Just wondering what took me so long.

Welcome. Where in Canada?

Ottawa, I am already planning my first big trip next year. I have a sister in Whitehorse, Yukon so that should be a fun ride. The only problam I foresee is that both my sister and her husband have Harleys and I'm not the type to intentionally show people up. Goldwing vs Harly,I guess it can't be helped this time

To me it's not what you ride but the fact that you ride. I try not to get drawn into bashing the Harley but am not always successful. I will never understand them and they likely me for my choice.

Here's a funny story. I drove the Beartooth this past summer in a vehicle as I took my parents on a vacation. At the end we stopped at a viewpoint. Pulling into the parking lot I noticed a couple of Harley baggers there. I walked to the viewpoint area which was a bit away from the parking lot and found the bikers there. Two couples. We chatted a bit and then they asked me to take their pictures. So they pose for a picture and instead of the standard "say cheese" thing I ask them to say "Goldwing". Well one of the gals goes and says "Honda" and I nearly dropped their camera cause I was laughing.

Later I think I saw her walking down the highway. well not really but I think she had to wash her mouth out.
