Postby firedude » Tue Nov 15, 2011 8:03 pm

just read the Nov contest Posts for the battery tender and wingadmin said the float charger isn't very good. i entered the contest but not very lucky at winning things. regardless, i need to get one and any advice about pricing, quality, dependability, etc would be greatly appreciated. I grew up in the south, and now that i live in colorado, i need to get one. any suggestions??

Amazon.com has the Battery Tender Jr for under $21.
Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

I've got a Battery Tender Jr. and a Cetek MULTI US 3300. I prefer the Cetek.

Info here but cheaper elsewhere.

When I mentioned the float charger not being good, I was referring to the float charger sold by Harbor Freight, which is very cheap, and will destroy a battery if left connected for any length of time.

The Battery Tender Jr. (I have three of them, one for each bike) is excellent - I've had one connected to the battery in my GL1100 now 24/7 for just about three years, and that battery is still like brand new. Before that I was going through almost a battery every year. At $90-$100 for a new battery, the $21 Battery Tender has paid for itself many times over.
