Trike -- EZ Steer from Bazooka

Postby kerrsys » Mon Jan 02, 2012 4:57 pm

Anybody use Bazooka's ez steer on their trike? He gets rave reviews on one of the trike boards, but, wondered if others on this board have used him. I'm thinking about buying his stuff. It's about $300 less than what Trikeshop wants for it. Anyone with any thoughts on the subject?

You can contact this company and buy direct from a manufacturer.

They offer triple trees for the GL1800, just tell them what degree of 'Rake' you want.

I've checked their products out and it's good made in the USA stuff.
You have to be careful with inexpensive triple trees; people have purchased Chinese made ones and have had problems, I've heard a lot of those horror stories. I've got lists of quality suppliers for trike parts and they have products I would use.
Here's another company I would buy products from: http://www.kewlmetalstore.com/product_i ... cts_id=244
When I build a trike I never skimp on quality parts, safety comes first.
Good solid machining, quality hardware and construction matter to me.
I've built trikes for 10 years and I trust the best made products I can get.
I can give you the name of a shop that has inexpensive ones, but they don't list where it's made.

The sad part of this is people will spend thousands on a custom made seat, hundreds on LED lights and chrome. This is an important part buy the best made one you can.
Years ago I called a company on the carpet on an open forum like this one about inexpensive trike kits, they were really cheap and I asked openly if they were made in China (which they were) and I was told I had no right to ask that question. Now that's really bad when the forum moderator protects the seller of an inferior made product and not the interest of the forum members, you have to look at replacement parts for it and the metallurgy. Never expect the best quality materials in this stuff.
The people who had the cheap Chinese triple trees had problems with the steering and flat spots in the cheap bearings as they were low grade steel. I didn't have the opportunity to have a trike come into my shop with one ( I know a shop owner who had 8 of them come into his shop) and if I did, the unit would be photographed and ID'ed so the consumer would know what to look for and avoid.
None of us ever found out who was doing the conversions and using these parts, but it will one day surface.
