I bought a 1983 GL1100A last spring so that my wife would be more comfortable than on my Honda Shadow. I was surprised how much i enjoyed riding this bike.
Last summer we went on more than a 1000 mile roundtrip on Iceland and many other shorter trips. The old bike never complaint.
And now during winter i'am taking it apart for some cosmetic and maintenance reasons (timing belt, valve gap, rechroming ).
This site has been a great help during that, thanks a lot for a great site.

Godan dag. Welcome to the site. Glad to hear you found yourself a Goldwing over there in the land of fire and ice. I spent 6 years there and loved every minute of it, though I would have loved to have my bike there. At least I had my 4 Wheeler.

Welcome to the site. I have a question for you tho, I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan and am curious about the length of the riding season there?Generally here we have 5 good months and maybe a little more if the weather holds out or breaks early.Thanks.

Godan dag og takk fyrir Seebee_. My father worked at the Navy base for over 30 years.
We have 5 to 6 good months but usually we can ride something all year. This winter has been really hard, both cold and snowy so i haven't been able to ride for two months now.

That's about the same as here, so at least I know the U.P. has something in common with Iceland.Happy trails.

Welcome to this site from WI,and to see you are enjoying the Wing.I had to say, just the other day I made a
contact (Ham Radio ) near your place ( Borgarnes IceLand ) not often that we hear from IceLand.

Good luck in the up dates on the new ride.
