I have a particular affinity for 82 Aspys. You'll love your new bike, and by the time it's together, you'll know how to do anything to it you ever wanted to do! :)

Welcome, you should have a lot of fun putting her together, don't forget there are a bunch of us here with the same bike you're assembling so you can ask a lot of questions.

I have just been to look at the bike in its broken down state, to be honest its not quite what I thought it would be. For an extra £350 I could get a very tidy one imported from the USA. :(

Now I see what you mean by the picture. :o Why was it in so many box's ?, was it in a accident or did the previous
owner just take it apart to up date everthing.Any way, good luck! :D

You might want to check what you got - because in that picture, the trunk and the fairing are from a GL1200, not a GL1100. Which would make it 1984 or newer.

Welcome to the club, that looks like it will need a lot of elbow grease to get it shining!! Projects like these are great, but remember it always costs a minimum of 2x what you budget to complete the project..!! How the weather in Cornwall? I just moved to Seattle from Texas and its freezing here, reminds me a lot of the weather back in the UK when I was a kid.. I grew up near Northampton and Bedford in the Midlands..

I noticed that too, there is a complete spare set of plastics with it, do 1200 parts fit 1100? I have not committed to buy this, I have said that is only worth a couple of hundred pounds to me. We have a Bike shop in the midlands that import bikes at reasonable prices, will just have to wait a little longer to become a Wing owner.
