Steering wobble

Postby Wing Man » Sat Dec 05, 2015 3:10 pm

Hi Wing man here, just for info sake I recently got a HJC half helmet for the warmer days and found that I had a much smoother ride than the ride with a Voss 970 open face helmet, must be the visor length and turbulence or some such, it was a nieght and day type of difference, I was worrying about head bearings not being adjusted properly as the bike ( GL1500 ) was new to me and you never know the history behind the maintenance done on the bike, it only had 31000 Km's, so try another helmet before you take out the tool kit.

Does your new helmet look like this ?

I know it did a bang up job of smoothing out the flight of the lead character in "The Rocketeer"
Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
:D

While it's possible for a difference in helmets to create a difference in turbulence, I find to hard to believe you could confuse a little turbulence near your head for steering wobble that you would feel in the bars.

I noticed it mostly while following container trucks on the way to work.
