Radio Question

Postby portugeezer » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:34 pm

OK, So I got to work on my GL1000 again today. I put a pioneer CD player in that I got from the auto salvage yard. I looked up the wiring and everything hooked up and worked fine. I tinned all my wires and insulated them. Sounds pretty good for 4" speakers and I have some better bass inferno speakers ordered from Amazon. The problem is I need to know where I can run a wire to constant 12v. Right now I shut it off and lose all my presets and the time on the clock. Thank You in advance for help!

Either direct to positive on the battery, or you need a meter to find an always live. Either way, put an inline fuse. Probably 3Amp.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

I already decided to do that and install an inline fuse

I'd go right to the battery, particularly for audio equipment. You don't want electrical noise sneaking into the audio system.
