Is this to remind you how cold it gets in Kansas? It never gets that cold in Oz. If he had any brains he would have left the engine running so that he could at least keep his hands warm on the engine. She would have to be worth waiting for, dont you think?

The world is not going to finish today, as it is already tomorrow in Australia and New Zealand, and other islands of foreign nations such as Guam and Samoa.

I might know that woman.
No matter where you go, there you are. It's not the destination that matters. Getting there safe does.

And maybe he just ran out of gas. They only hold so much. I save for Christmas by shuting mine off while waiting. You can also save a lot of time by asking what has she forgotten before you start out, as it is easier than turning around and going back to get what she forgot. Kinda need a checklist for starting out. Saves time too. LOL. Best thing about riding a bike is you get to ride that 80 mile round trip going back to pick up that one sheet of paper that is still sitting on the counter next to the door where she won't forget it.
Ride safe, and smart. Asphalt is like #1 grit sandpaper. Dave

Judging by the small backseat and no back rest she probably said she'd be right out while mumbling under her breath "when hell freezes"
