It's 5 o'clock isn't it? Who cares what day it is?

actually that was a statement. my other computer crashed the other day and i had to use my wife's laptop while i was waiting for my new, (this one) computer to be delivered yesterday. it took me about 5 hours to reload all my programs, websites, bike contact list, 82 games, and im STILL not finished lol.

OK, you asked 4 questions in one posting, so i guess its over and YOU WIN ! ! ! ! unless you want to start a new answer a question with a question game.

No, I don't care to start a new game.

Enjoy your new computer and you start a new game if you want to.

Understood. Between being down sick with a cold, sick of tv, sick of taking pills and sick to death about not being able to ride my new bike, I think I'll just go lay down and sleep a little while, again.

i agree with all of that. ya know, sometimes being retired can be a real pain in the a** if you cant keep yourself busy, but sometimes you just run out of things to do and that's when boredom hits ya lol.

I'm starting to feel better. The weather has cleared up and the temperatures are coming up. Hmmmmm.....
Maybe that's why I'm feeling better. Anyhow, went out to the shop yesterday to visit my bike. I tinkered around with it a bit then came back into the house.
Couple hours later, I went outside just wearing a sweatshirt. The wind was almost calm and the sun felt so warm I decided I was going for a ride.
I gave it a little choke and cranked it several times. Nothing. Not even a pop. Tried it a few more times. Still nothing. Except my battery started going down.
It was then I noticed my kill switch was in the off position!
Pulled the battery cover to hookup a trickle charger. Noticed water level was low. Battery now on charger in the house.
One thing lead to another. Now I have the top of my false gas tank cover off and I can't get it to fit back on properly.
The rear end, near the seat fits fine, but the further forward I go, the bigger the gap on the sides get.
Going back out in a couple hours to see if I can fix that. Supposed to be almost 60°F this afternoon and I need a ride like a junkie needs his fix.

i know that feeling. is a gorgeous sun shining not a cloud in the sky day here, but the temps are in the low 30's, but supposed to be going up into the mid 50's. be that as it may, im gonna take my bike out to go to the supermarket and get a few "snacks" lol. at least i'll get some riding in even though the stores here are only a couple of miles away.

Well, depending on how it feels to you, you can go to one of the stores just a wee bit further down the road. :)

Well I went out and figured out how to get it back together. Took a while because each part I took off had to be cleaned first and the area under it cleaned! You'd think the previous owner lived on a dirt road! Paint brush helps a lot.
Then for God only knows why, before I put my charged up battery back in, I wanted to take the battery box out.
I couldn't get it out but I was able to see down behind it.
Found some wires that had got behind the battery box. The tape was worn through and the wires were exposed. I taped them back up and 're-routed them so they wouldn't fall back there again.
I also had to put a new vent tube on the battery. The "soda straws" the previous owner tried to use, were falling apart.
I also got about 10 feet of wire that went nowhere off of it.
After putting the battery back in I just had to start it. Wow! With a hot battery, no choke (and kill switch in "run" position) it started right up!
While it idled I put the seat back on it. Leather coat, boots, gauntlets and helmet and I was on my way.
Temperature was upper 50's or lower 60's, it felt great!
Wind was picking up and getting gusty but I still rode about 60 miles. Its an older bike and its not perfect but I am really loving it.

I'm sure I'll get a bit more riding in before the bad weather hits. I'm glad I got out today, supposed to start raining by Thanksgiving.
Guess I won't do much at all with it til after Thanksgiving. Be a bunch of relatives here and if anyone wants a look-see, I don't want to have little parts scattered all over the shop.
I hope this Goldwing turns out to be as dependable as my other ones.

well, im sure you know all about that "TLC" thing. all these older wings need that once in a while. good job on fixing those wires btw. hope you have all those little parts squared away by the time your in-laws get there. don't want any missing parts especially those small ones.
