Saw this somewhere else and aloto folk downed it cause it was put on by a bank . Maybe if more folk in the US saw it they might get a glimmer as to why some folk choose to ride . I LIKED the minni show .

Once again, I'm digging through some old threads and ran across this. WOW!!! did it hit home.
Have been making trips to Utah to visit an old Navy buddy of mine. He is now 69 and in poor health. We used to ride together back in the late 60's and all the 70's. We just kept getting stationed together every transfer. We spent a few years in the Philippines and had bikes. We rode the island of Luzon tip to tip. Had a bunch of Filipino friends we rode with that were just plain crazy. He went back to the PI a few years ago and has remained friends with many of them (those still alive).
I saw that short film and just made me think of what it would be like of my buddy mike and I got back over there, looked up those guys and got bikes for a long ride. Memories boiling over, bringing tears to my eyes...My buddy was supposed to come to Texas to visit me this time, since I have been to Utah 3 times now. But, he couldn't make the trip too much heart problems to take the chance. His wife won't let him go. I'll probably go again the middle of Oct. it will be cool enough for a good ride. He is in Southern Utah (St. George) so don't really have to worry about cold weather in Oct.

I sure hope you can make the trip and see your buddy. I have lost to many good biker friends that I would have liked to ride again with. But at age 72 I have made new friends and still ride as the weather lets me.
Every time I go out for a ride alone, I now wonder how long I have to enjoy this sport....Good Luck & God Bless.....

The trip is on, scheduled to leave Oct 11th. That is assuming I don't break anything else on the bike or me. I think those guys in that commercial are in better shape than I am. I keep doing stupid things. Right now I am healing from removing all the skin and some meat on my right forearm. About 2 inches wide and 6 inches long. Me and a tree and a chainsaw all got together. The tree got mad cuz I was cutting it down. The last thing it did was shoot back as me as I cut the last inch. Cought my arm and took all the skin and meat along it way. What makes me mad is that I know better. I have been cutting trees for 40 years when need be. I didn't make the back cut first before attacking it so it split when it dropped. It spring loaded it so when I cut the last part through well you can get the picture. That was last Sat. I took the bike out today and the arm seems ok for riding. So with the trip on, should be able to stay almost 2 weeks. Gotta get back for the big halloween bike rally the last weekend of Oct.

I just hope I am able to ride at 72, hell I just hope I am alive at 72. I may have to go back to the trike again but that's ok I could deal with that.

Average age 81, I sure hope I am still riding when I am 81, but I doubt it will be on a wing, too dam heavy for my spindly legs when I am that age!!

Great clip, makes me smile & cry every time I see it..

Well guys, looks like all is well with the planned trip. Departure is moved up to this Friday..Have the bike gone over, oil changed, new timing belts, tires checked, so far so good. I have decided not to make it a speed trip. It is 1450 miles to his house, so I will just plan on about 500 miles a day. Will be a little extra on day one, as will make Las Cruses, NM for first overnight, then probably Tucson, or Phoenix for second night, The into St. George, Ut Sunday afternoon. Really looking forward to almost 2 weeks with my Buddy.

I hope you both have a great time, take plenty of pictures of the trip and your friend, they are always great to look back at later on..
